High profile Wolfpack leader Larry Amero has seen his trafficking case thrown out under the Jordan Rule. The 40-year-old has been in jail since his arrest in Montreal in November 2012 as a prime target in Project Loquace. Amero grew up in Vancouver, joined the Hells Angels in 2002 and became a full-patch member of the White Rock chapter in 2005. Before his arrest, he joined the West Point chapter, now operating out of a Langley home.

Amero, along with Tom Gisby, were long considered among the largest wholesale drug dealers in Canada. Amero forged his gang links into a massively successful and hugely profitable business across Canada. Police said they found documentation showing millions of dollars in drug transactions.

It was reported he was moving 75kg of cocaine per week.

Wolfpack alliance fingered in GTA violence
There have been over a dozen unsolved shootings, explosions and killings in Ontario this year as the result of a power struggle that was sparked off by the December 2013 death of Vito Rizzuto, who was long regarded as Canada’s most powerful mobster. The leadership vacuum has attracted newcomers who are eager to challenge the old guard. It has also triggered intense infighting inside what’s left of the old Rizzuto organization in Ontario.

The genesis of the Wolfpack was the Hells Angels, the Red Scorpions and the Independent Soldiers, who formed an alliance against the Duhre/Dhak group and some United Nations gang members in B.C. While the Dhak/Duhre group has lost strength with the execution of their respective leaders, the UN gang remains well entrenched.

Angelo Musitano was fatally shot in May.

Cosimo (The Quail) Commisso
The Wolfpack is a rapidly evolving group disrupting established organized crime. Their members don’t have blood or ethnic ties or a code of conduct or even a rigid hierarchy. They’re generally young and tech savvy.

In contrast, the ’Ndrangheta is steeped in a highly structured, quasi-religious criminal tradition. The violence is between the newcomers aligned with the Wolfpack, and the old guard in the ’Ndrangheta. The Commisso clan has a branch in the Greater Toronto Area, which is part of the wider Siderno Group.

Mexican drug cartels have expanded their influence in Canada and have connected with the new aggressive groups like the Wolfpack, providing them limitless access to drugs. The violence between the newcomers aligned with the Wolfpack, and the old guard in the ’Ndrangheta, isn’t expected to end anytime soon, as the Wolfpack has aligned itself with enemies of ’Ndrangheta. Last month police warned two York Region men who are considered senior members of the Commisso family that there are credible threats on their lives. The men declined police protection.

Jarrod Bacon back behind bars - 'Danger to Society'
Notorious gangster Jarrod Bacon has had his parole revoked after drinking in a strip club with a fellow (HA related) criminal and then giving police a false identity. Dumbarse Bacon’s earlier parole conditions mandate that he not associate with criminals or enter a drinking establishment. After Bacon was arrested and sat in the police car he became aggressive, attempting to kick out the windows. He then claimed he blacked out and remembers nothing. Riiiight. Apparently he thought his parole conditions were all a big joke. One assumes he isn't laughing now.

Bacon was sentenced to 12 years behind bars for conspiring to traffic up to 100 kilograms of cocaine in 2009.

The Wolfpack first started in 2011, when three main gang leaders came together to start a business alliance: the Bacon brothers from the Red Scorpions, Larry Amero from the Hell’s Angels and James Riach from the Independent Soldiers.

The first watershed moment in the larger conflict came with the murder of Gurmit Dhak, who was shot in the face, execution style, in an SUV in October 2010 at a parking lot of the Metrotown Shopping Centre. This started a long string of retaliation and tit-for-tat violence in the Lower Mainland.
In August 2011 Red Scorpions’ leader Jonathan Bacon was killed in Kelowna (Hells Angels’ Larry Amero and Independent Soldiers’ James Raich were injured) Conflict pitted the United Nations gang and all the remnants and allies of the Dhak-Duhre group against the Wolfpack.

It was revealed in court documents that James Riach was one of the gang members in a downtown Vancouver hotel bar when Sandip Duhre was killed there in January 2012.

Jonathan Bacon
It’s been nearly five years since the head of the Red Scorpions gang, Jonathan Bacon, was gunned down in Kelowna, but his name is still being brought up today. That’s because of a different gang Bacon was a part of, called The Wolfpack. The group first started in 2011, when three main gang leaders came together to start a business alliance: Bacon, from the Red Scorpions, Larry Amero from the Hell’s Angels and James Riach from the Independent Soldiers.

“The coming together of those three main leaders was the beginning of the Wolfpack,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit says.

The investigation into the ‘The Wolfpack’ led to a residence in Surrey last month. Kamloops RCMP obtained a search warrant for the residence, where Oxycodone pills, seven pounds of Marijuana and cocaine was found. Some of the pills contained fentanyl. Michael Ross, a 27-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a firearm when prohibited. Two days before that on May 26, police arrested Christopher Pace and Bruce Davis in Kamloops. Davis was found with a .45 calibre handgun, .25 calibre handgun and a Tec 9 automatic.

The 'Wolfpack' dominates the Kamloops drug trade.

Seized Independent Soldiers gear
Kamloops RCMP say during raid on a home in Agassiz on June 2, 2016 by officers from the Targeted Enforcement Unit, Agassiz and Chilliwack seized 17 firearms, including two folding stock rifles, two sawed-off shotguns, ammunition, scopes and magazines.

No arrests were made during the execution of the search warrant, but charges are expected to be laid. On June 1 RCMP announced the results of a four month investigation into the gang which resulted in 10 arrests and the seizure of drugs, guns and ammunition.

Jon Bacon Murder Trial to be held without Jury
The trial of three men charged with the murder of Jon Bacon in Kelowna five years ago will be heard by a judge with no jury. That's unusual for murder cases but both the Crown and defence have agreed to it.

Bacon was killed in August 2011 when his Porsche Cayenne SUV was riddled with bullets outside the Delta Grand Hotel in Kelowna. A masked gunman armed with an automatic weapon opened fire.
Jujhar Khun-Khun, Jason Thomas McBride and Michael Hunter Jones have been charged with murder and attempted murder in the mid-day execution. The trial is scheduled to start next May, and is expected to last ten months.

A high-security court room has been built and the cell blocks upgraded at a cost of about $4 million to accommodate the trial.

WolfPack member Dustin Wadsworth dead of apparent overdose
Dustin Wadsworth, convicted last year for trafficking, died Tuesday of a suspected overdose. Wadsworth was closely associated to the WolfPack gang alliance. Hells Angel Damion Ryan and other associates have been posting their condolences on social media.

Wadsworth was arrested in October 2014 after police seized 10 ounces of cocaine. His home was searched and police found $57,000 cash, cutting agents, drug paraphernalia and ecstasy pills. At the time Wadsworth was on bail on drug charges when he and Arash Younus were caught with $250,000 worth of drugs.

Damion Ryan
Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said that “it appears that Dustin Wadsworth, like many others associated to the often dangerous gang and drug world, has fallen victim to the same products that have claimed so many other lives. It doesn’t matter if you’re a long-time drug dealer, a hardened gang member, or a teenager experimenting with drugs for the first time, no one is immune to their potentially deadly effects”

"One gang’s name keeps resurfacing, the Wolf Pack"
Pick a motive, any motive, for the mob violence in Hamilton. Vendettas and retaliation are based on history, but at stake is control of the lucrative underworld businesses from Niagara to Montreal. The Musitanos, who are Calabrian, linked their organization with Montreal’s boss Vito Rizzuto, a Sicilian, who had long vied to control underworld markets in the Golden Horseshoe. Pat Musitano was introduced to Vito Rizzuto in October 1997.

Magaddino crime family
The Musitanos were enveloped by the Rizzuto family expanding into Ontario after it broke from its subservient role as a wing of New York’s Bonanno Crime Family. Ontario was then under the auspices of the Stefano Magaddino Crime Family of Buffalo — through Carmen Barillaro and Johnny Papalia.

One gang’s name keeps resurfacing, the Wolf Pack. It spread from B.C. and made ties to the remnants of the Rizzuto crime family, which has been showing muscle in the GTA and Montreal.

Carmen Barillaro
It appears the Calabrian ‘Ndrangheta in Toronto, which covets the Quebec drug market, has been pushing back. One organized crime expert says the conflict is as close to “an all-out drug war as you can get.”

A string of unsolved murders are believed connected to the feud, including Sukhvir “Sukh” Deo, 35, who was gunned down June 2016, and 39-year-old Anastasios Leventis who was shot dead in January.
